• Strong experience building and operating production backend systems
• Strong proficiency in Rust or TypeScript, with willingness to work across both
• Experience designing reliable APIs, services and data models
• Strong understanding of databases and distributed or event-driven systems
• Experience taking ownership of software through development, deployment and production operation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to correctness
• Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving engineering team
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
• DeFi experience is valuable but isn't a requirement. We're equally interested in exceptional backend engineers from fintech, payments, trading, infrastructure or other environments where security and correctness are critical.

• Design, build and maintain production backend services and APIs
• Build systems coordinating complex financial and blockchain transactions
• Develop infrastructure for positions, auctions and portfolio tracking
• Work with databases and data models where accuracy and consistency are critical
• Build and maintain asynchronous and event-driven workflows
• Integrate backend systems with DeFi protocols and blockchain infrastructure
• Own services in production, including monitoring, debugging and incident response
• Contribute to architecture, security and engineering decisions across the platform
• Help establish engineering standards and best practices as the team grows
