• We're looking for someone with 5-10+ years of experience designing, building and operating production backend systems.
• Deep backend engineering skills including API design, data modeling and reasoning about distributed systems tradeoffs.
• Hands on experience running AWS/GCP with a strong understanding of how infrastructure impacts application reliability and performance.
• Practical experience with CI/CD including testing and deployment strategies.
• Solid grasp of observability and healthy on-call practices.

• This is an in-person role focused on owning and evolving our backend services to create a modern, AI-native developer experience
• You will Partner with the Product, AI, and Operations teams to architect new features and complex agentic systems.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs that power Kick’s core product to ensure systems are secure, well-tested and high performance.
• Make clear architectural tradeoffs that balance between platform, product and business goals.
• Design and implement distributed services to orchestrate data pipelines, automate investigations, and enable incident response at scale.
• Set engineering standards for writing, communication and system design influencing how a modern AI-native product is built
