About Company
We are looking for a VP of Engineering who leads from the front — a highly hands-on technical leader who still enjoys coding and wants to build both product and team. This role sits at the core of the company and plays a key role in product and business decisions, working closely with the CEO and the leadership team (excom).
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, including leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on backend experience and API design.
- Experience in fintech and/or banking (required).
- Proven track record building and scaling engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to bridge technology and business.
- Builder mindset: pragmatic, execution-oriented, and ownership-driven.
Duties
- Design, build, and scale the company’s engineering platform.
- Lead by example: write, review, and ship production code while setting technical standards.
- Define the product roadmap together with the CEO and product stakeholders.
- Build and integrate the engineering team, starting from an existing external team.
- Design a modular, API-first architecture optimized for bank integrations.
- Establish engineering best practices (CI/CD, code quality, documentation, agile delivery).
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
